Electric Six are a very well known band with many top 20 songs under their belt, with their most popular songs still being played on the radio and in night clubs well after the band’s peak.

Electric Six are, unsurprisingly, a six piece band comprising of Christopher Tait, Dick Valentine, Johnny Ma$hinal, Smorgasbord, The Colonel and Percussion World. However, there have been 11 previous members.

The band originally formed in 1996 from Detroit under the name “The Wildbunch”, but later had to drop the name due to pressure from another band of the same name.

Their first real taste of fame came in 2003 when they released their debut single “Danger! High Voltage” from the album “Fire”, which proved particularly popular in the UK, reaching number two. This was followed by “Gay Bar” which reached number five. The album then made it into the “best of” list of albums in 2003. They have now released eight albums, their latest being “Heartbeats and Brainwaves” in June 2011.
